Large Scale Events List

Large scale events are projects and events that take more time, effort, and planning than other service activities. Often it takes many months and individuals to plan and execute these events in order to be a success. Listed below are some of Circle K's previous large scale events and some that the organization will likely continue in the future. If you have an idea for an event that you would like to see happen, you can e-mail the Executive Board ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and they can help you get one started.

If you would like to get involved with any event listed below, stay tuned for information at the weekly club meetings. You can also email the Executive Board or the respective contact for each project to ask for additional information.

CK Service Day (24 Hours of Service and Socials)

Service Day is Circle K at the University of Michigan's signature event, consisting of 24 straight hours of back-to-back service projects held during one weekend each November. Service Day strives to show how large of an impact can be made in the span of just a single day, and works to encourage students to become more involved with community service. Everyone is invited to participate in this opportunity which gives volunteers the chance to serve in and around the Ann Arbor and Detroit communities. Throughout the day volunteers work together to create a lasting impact and are also given plenty of opportunities to reflect on their actions. Meaningful service is another aspect that Service Day stresses. Every service project is organized to truly make a difference and inform participants about the issues that surround some of the core problems in the community. During the 2016 Service Day event, 564 participants volunteered at 172 service projects completing 1,981 hours of service.

Trick-or-Can
Every Halloween, Circle K goes trick-or-treating for canned goods. It is a ton of fun and we generally collect over one ton of food for Food Gatherers, an organization that provides food essentials to deserving families in the Washtenaw community. Come dressed up ready for fun, as we collect food for those who need it (you might even get some candy as well).
This event is put on by the Service Cluster, if you have any questions regarding the event please contact the Executive Board ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
